Racing during the British Rowing Club Championships 2025

The Entries List and Provisional Timetable for the British Rowing Club Championships, have just been published and set the scene for a tantalising four days of racing! Clubs have until 14:00 on Monday, 13 July 2026 to send in any corrections, after which the Draw and Timetable will be finalised.

Entries are up again on 2025 with well over 300 crews racing each day and 409 taking to the water on the Sunday. Competition will be particularly fierce in the older Open Junior single sculls (1x); with 92 entries, Open J18 1x is the largest event at the Championships, followed by Open J15 1x with 80 and Open J16 1x with 75. Women’s J15 double sculls (2x) is the biggest women’s event with 69 entries, closely followed by Women’s J15 1x with 68, all underlining the health of junior rowing in Great Britain.

Senior entries are up by more than 25% from 2025, which in turn saw a 31% increase from the launch of the new format combined Junior and Senior Championships in 2024. We are also extremely pleased to have received 15 entries across the various adaptive events.

The 169 competing school, academic and community clubs (up from 162 last year) will be travelling from all around the country including Aberdeen BC and Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association from the north, Ryde RC and Shanklin Sandown RC from the Isle of Wight in the south, West Norfolk RC from the East, and Dart Totnes RC and Minerva Bath RC in the West. Two clubs from Gibraltar are competing too.

Wallingford RC – winners of the overall and Junior Victor Ludorum trophy in both 2024 and 2025 – have the largest entry, with 53 crews. They’ll doubtless be challenged once again for these titles by The Windsor Boys’ School BC, who were second in each last year and are bringing 52 Open crews, almost all competing in Junior events. Hartpury University and College BC have 46 crews, while Leeds RC have 42.

With a brand new SL Racing single scull worth £11,000 being supplied by Cymba Racing as the prize for the overall winners of the Victor Ludorum, there’s a lot at stake in every race! Plus all winners of the Championships events as well as of the J18 and Club single sculls will receive dryrobe® Organic Towel Ponchos.

British Rowing Head of Events and Competitions James Lee said, “We’re thrilled that more crews than ever will be racing at Club Championships and we’re looking forward to some incredible racing across the 67 events.”

For those who can’t get to Holme Pierrepont Country Park to watch in person, there will be a free livestream on the British Rowing YouTube Channel.
