Helen Cowing appointed to the Board of British Rowing

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Helen Cowing as an Independent Non‑Executive Director on our board

This move further strengthens our financial oversight and strategic leadership.

Helen will also take on the role of Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, bringing extensive experience in financial governance, business oversight and organisational controls. She has held senior finance roles across multiple sectors and brings a deep understanding of robust financial management. A lifelong supporter of our sport, Helen first discovered rowing in her youth and has recently returned to the water in Gloucester.

Diana Hunter, Chair of British Rowing, said: “I am looking forward to working with Helen. I feel her wealth of experience both in her professional career and her experience of our sport will help us build a stronger National Governing Body.”

This appointment, along with the appointment of Niamh Corbett this April, reflects our continued commitment to ensuring the voice of the rowing community is represented at Board level.
