The award-winning beach of Bournemouth in Dorset will host what is going to be the biggest ever edition of the British Rowing Beach Sprint Championships to date. The discipline, which will make its Olympic debut in 2028 at the Los Angeles Olympic Games, has been growing rapidly across the world with the fast-paced format combining rowing and sprinting across the beach.
A record number of entries have already been received, but there’s still time for you to be part of the action! They will close at 11:00 on Wednesday 20 August.
New for 2025:
- Events for J16 rowers
- Events for Masters rowers
- Mixed Challenge quads – enter a crew, or just enter a seat to be drawn into a crew
The British Team, which is preparing for the European Championships and World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals later this year, is planning to compete in Bournemouth, including the athletes who are on the Olympic pathway, hoping to become the first individuals to represent Great Britain at an Olympic Beach Sprint Championships.
Tom Pattichis, Olympic Head Coach for Beach Sprints said; “Bournemouth is a regular training location for the GB Beach Sprint programme, so we’re really pleased to be competing at the British Beach Sprint Championships, and use the event for selected crews as part of their preparation for the upcoming European Championships and World Finals.”
