The 2025 edition of the British Rowing Club Championships is set to be record-breaking. The combined Junior and Senior Championships have seen an 8% overall increase on last year’s entry numbers with a record junior entry and a 31% year-on-year increase in entries for the senior events.

Four days of high-calibre racing are scheduled for Friday 18 to Monday 21 July 2025. Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre will play host to the largest Club Championships to date, with something for all of the club. British Rowing are delighted to welcome 162 affiliated clubs that have submitted entries for this year’s Championships.

The biggest armada will travel north from Windsor. The Windsor Boys’ School BC have entered 52 crews while last year’s overall Victor Ludorum Winner, Wallingford RC will field 51.

Meanwhile, Leeds RC is set to bring the biggest number of individuals with 88 club members spread across 28 boats. Their contingent will include juniors, seniors, and adaptive, highlighting the ethos of the Club Championships.

British Rowing’s Events Manager, James Lee, is looking forward to welcoming thousands of athletes and spectators to Nottingham next weekend. “Following the success of the inaugural four-day combined Championships last year, it is really exciting to see such growth this year, particularly within the senior events, whilst the junior entry continues to grow,” he said.

“We made a few changes based on feedback, and the event will continue to evolve to serve the needs of the rowing community. We have everyone from newcomers to the sport to some of this year’s Henley winners coming along to race with us for what is bound to be four fantastic days of racing!”

The significant increase in senior entries includes seven entries for the mixed championship eights alongside increased entries in the open and women’s club eights. The beginner single sculls have proved a popular addition to the 2025 programme whilst 40 competitors will compete to become national champions in the club single scull, with 31 in the equivalent women’s event.

Winners in their Dryrobes

Alongside all of the action on the water, which will be fully broadcast, competitors and supporters are invited to the Event Village which will feature a big screen to watch all of the action, and a whole host of exhibitors and retailers. British Rowing partner Dryrobe, who will be presenting Dryrobes to a selection of winners, will also be running a competition to win five customised robes.

British Rowing is also delighted to welcome back Black Sheep Brewery. Last year’s supporters will once again be donating prize packs to the winners of the Mixed Championship Eights and the Mixed Club Coxed Fours.
