Rowers from clubs across England have been selected to represent their country as they race against the home nations of Ireland, Scotland and Wales on Saturday 27 July at Strathclyde Park near Glasgow.

After a tight selection process, the senior men and women will be racing in ten events, with the junior men and women competing in seven.

Tim Liversage, Team Manager for England said: “This year saw a record 118 crews enter the trial across 48 clubs racing for selection at the London Docklands. Both junior and senior crews were selected in some very close race-offs.

“The Home International Regatta has introduced the PR3 single scull, with Georgia Walker being selected to represent England in this event, while Sophie Brown is called up in the PR2 single sculls.

“We have a number of returners to the England Team in Camilla Plumb, Ash Cowley, Andy Warren, Kenny Gray, Lucy Holgate, Seb Devereux and Ellie Cushen who, no doubt will lead with their experience.”

This year the competition will be more exciting than ever

Last year, England’s senior women and junior men and women won their matches at the Home International Regatta in Cork, with exceptional performances from across the team.

“This year the competition will be more exciting than ever,” said Liversage.

“Katy Knowles, the England Team Lead Coach, will continue to prepare the crews at Reading Blue Coat School. I am extremely excited to see what this year’s team can do up in Scotland – and wish all other nations the best of luck during what is going to be the most competitive event yet.”

Racing takes place on Saturday 27 July at Strathclyde Park so why not go down and cheer on the rowers as they race for their home nation.
