Learn to Row Support for Clubs
Working together with affiliated rowing clubs and organisations, the British Rowing Learn to Row support is aiming to connect clubs closer to the public, promoting places where people can give rowing a go, and opening up more opportunities to try the sport on their doorstep for the first time.

Learn to Row support
British Rowing has created a Learn to Row support package for clubs which includes grant support, access to promoting courses on a national booking system, and a range of coach training, delivery resources, webinars, paid for marketing and guidance.
Clubs wishing to apply for this grant will use the new national Learn to Row booking system to promote and administrate club learn to row courses.
Clubs can apply for grants of:
- £1,000 for helping up to 25 new participants on courses priced at £99 or less
- £2,000 for up to 50 or over participants on courses priced at £99 or less
What revenue will clubs retain?
Clubs will retain any revenue from the course fees, minus the £40 price per person of a British Rowing Learn to Row Membership. This membership provides individuals with public liability insurance and personal accident cover.
It also gives new members access to the Rower Development Guide to help them continue to develop their skills and be more connected with the sport from the start.
What additional support will clubs receive?
- A range of coach training opportunities – including free club places on a Learn to Row Helper course and coaching beginners as a cox
- Access to our Learn to Row Resources Hub
- Physical Learn to Row Handbooks
- Exclusive national paid for marketing
- Best practice club support – including club webinars, community team staff support, practical resources, Learn to Row Guides, Rower Development Guide.
General support is also available to clubs who only want to use the national booking system. Please note clubs who choose this option will need to include a 6 Month (£20.00) Learn to Row BR membership in their course costs.Â
