Role of British Rowing
We are the governing body for all forms of rowing in England, both indoor and on water.

British Rowing’s overall mission is to lead, enable and inspire excellence in rowing at all levels.
Our primary objective with regards to indoor rowing is to increase participation and ensure it is positioned as a key part of our sport.

What does success look like?
- Increase indoor rowing participation by 10% by 2021.
- Every indoor rower to identify themselves as a rower.
We recognise that the indoor rowing sector already includes a wide range of commercial equipment manufacturers, health and fitness operators, fitness professionals and other suppliers.
Our role will focus on bringing the industry together, addressing barriers to participation and growth, and providing a collective voice and profile for indoor rowing.
