Miles Beeson
Rower // Men's Squad
Club: Leander Club
Hometown: Aberdeen

Miles Beeson discovered rowing in 2013 at Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association (ASRA). Despite coming from a smaller program, he thrived under the guidance of dedicated volunteer coaches, winning national titles as a junior and earning a spot on the GB team.
His early success ultimately led him to Yale University, where he continued to develop as an athlete while representing GB on the international stage, securing three U23 World Championship gold medals in the eight, four, and pair. At University, he studied Political Science and was Student-Athlete Mentor.
Coming from a small club in the North East of Scotland, Miles experienced firsthand how rowing can be a gateway to life-changing opportunities. Aware of the pivotal moments and mentors who shaped his own journey, he has founded a mentorship charity aimed at connecting promising young rowers from disadvantaged backgrounds with elite-level mentors. His mission is to ensure that talented athletes receive the support, guidance, and knowledge necessary to maximize both their athletic and personal development.
Beyond rowing, Miles is the founder and Managing Director of Feather & Square, a company tackling one of Rowing’s age-old problems—painful blisters. The brand’s signature hand balm has quickly gained traction in the rowing community, supported by a strong online presence that highlights the fun side of the sport. Miles is passionate about breaking the stereotype that elite rowing has to be grueling and miserable, and he hopes to expand Feather & Square into a sustainable, British-made skincare brand for all athletes.
His biggest inspiration is his Dad, who not only introduced him to rowing but also set a lifelong example of dedication, balance, and hard work. Having an old machine in the house paid off in the end and it is still frequently used by Miles and his 2 siblings who now also row.
As a child, he loved watching the Olympics, not just for the spectacle of world-class competition, but because it meant one special privilege: getting to eat dinner in front of the TV. His childhood rowing club, ASRA, is yet to have someone compete at a senior world championships or at an Olympics and it is Miles’ ambition to achieve this.
