Imogen Grant MBE

Imogen started rowing at First and Third Trinity Boat Club during her first year of university, signing up for a taster session in exchange for two free drinks in Freshers Week.

Rapidly falling in love with the sport, she won the Beginner eight at BUCS in her first year before going on to win the Blondie – Osiris race in her second.

Imogen is a triple Cambridge Blue, winning three Boat Races (two in record time), and she also has a Blue in cycling, winning the BUCS team time trial while at Cambridge. She made her Olympic debut in the lightweight women’s double sculls with Emily Craig at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games where they set a World Best Time in the heats before missing the podium in an agonising 0.01 second photo finish. Together, Imogen and Emily remained unbeaten throughout the Paris cycle. They became Olympic Champions forever at the Paris 2024 Games.

Imogen is a qualified doctor, having completed her medical degree in 2023, a vegan and is an Ambassador for the Rivers Trust. Sustainability is incredibly important to her, and she is working to improve sustainability within rowing, but also more widely among sports. Outside of rowing, Imogen is a keen knitter, watercolour painter, lino printer, plant mom, and reader.
