The 2026 regatta has once again been oversubscribed and will feature 82 events, bringing together 1,414 competitors, from 187 rowing clubs, across 16 countries. Masters age categories range from Masters B (36–42 years) to Masters K (85–90 years) are represented, with competitors averaging 55 years of age, a testament to the enduring appeal of competitive rowing at every stage of life.

Founded in 1994 by Harry Harvey (Derby Rowing Club) and Stuart Wilson (Upper Thames Rowing Club), the regatta has grown into one of the world’s leading events for Masters rowers. Crews will race side by side over a 1,000-metre course on the iconic Henley reach, from just above Temple Island to Upper Thames Rowing Club. Racing begins at 9.30am each day, with races scheduled every four minutes before culminating in finals on Sunday.

A new feature for 2026 is the introduction of the Faster Masters Challenge Cup, which will be presented annually to the winner of the event attracting the largest number of competitors. This year’s inaugural trophy will be awarded to the winners of the Women’s Masters F Eights. The regatta will also feature an exhibition race for crews affiliated with The Survivor Rowing Network.

Jon Thornber, Chairman of Henley Masters Regatta, said: “We are delighted to continue the growth and evolution of Henley Masters Regatta in 2026.”

“For the first time, we are delivering a full three-day racing programme, reflecting the increasing demand from Masters rowers around the world. It is fantastic to welcome competitors from 16 countries, alongside a record number of clubs and events, to race on one of the sport’s most famous stretches of water.”

The 2026 regatta is proudly supported by lead sponsor Kanghua UK and remains entirely volunteer-run, with more than 100 volunteers and committee members working behind the scenes to deliver an outstanding experience for competitors, officials, and spectators.

A livestream of the racing will be available through a pay-per-view service, while spectators are encouraged to attend in person to enjoy the racing from the towpath and visit the event’s sponsors and exhibitors.

As it enters its 32nd year, Henley Masters Regatta continues to celebrate lifelong participation in competitive rowing in one of the sport’s most iconic settings.
