This weekend,1027 masters rowers from 134 clubs will be descending on Nottingham for the 2026 British Rowing Masters Championships.

2026 marks another record entry, with almost 100 more rowers racing at Holme Pierrepont Country Park than last year, and entries closing early due to demand!

Tideway Scullers School comes in with the most entries with 51 boats in the competition, whilst Kingston Rowing Club has the most people, with over 60 club members racing. With a Victor Ludorum cash prize up for large, medium and small clubs, clubs will be looking to gather as many points as they can across the two days of racing.

Masters rowing is for everyone over the age of 27, and once again the British Rowing Masters Championships has proven that rowing is a sport for life. Klaus Riekemann became an Olympic Champion in 1960 – in 2026 aged 86 he’s our oldest competitor at the Championships, representing Minerva Bath Rowing Club.

This year’s biggest event is the Women’s Intermediate 50+ Double Sculls, with 27 entries. Six out of ten of this year’s most-entered boat classes are Women’s.

Faster Masters Rowing have kindly donated ten Nomadix Fitness Towels to the prize draw, which was drawn randomly from entrants to the Championships.

The prize winners are:

Mette Rodgers (X-Press Boat Club)
Tara O’Leary (Christchurch Rowing Club)
Ivan Higgins (Star Club)
