It’s five years today since Sport England launched ‘Uniting the Movement’, their long-term vision to transform lives and communities across England through sport and physical activity.
Conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic, their strategy reimagined how our sector works, collaborates and supports people who have traditionally faced the greatest barriers to getting active.
Sport England have come a long way since then but, as they mark this five-year milestone, they are firmly focused on the road ahead, because there is still more to do.
Over the past 12 months, Sport England continued to build momentum on the key issues at the heart of our strategy. As part of their reflections on 12 months of hard work, we’re looking back on just some of the clubs and projects that have been positively impacted over the past year.

Through Sport England, British Rowing clubs have access to the Movement Fund.  It offers up to £15,000 for physical activity projects in the community. The focus is on people who face barriers to activity and projects designed to help them join in.
