Tom Solesbury appointed Chief Executive of British Rowing
Tom will be joining British Rowing effective Spring 2026
British Rowing is delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Solesbury to the role of Chief Executive at British Rowing.
Tom joins British Rowing from UK Athletics where he has served as Chief Operating Officer. In that role Tom played a central part in guiding the organisation through a period of significant financial and safeguarding challenges, helping to restore stability, strengthen governance and support the sport’s return to sustainable success from grassroots to the highest levels of the sport.
Tom learnt to row at the University of Warwick and Mortlake Anglian and Alpha Boat Club before going on to represent Great Britain at the highest level of the sport. He competed at four World Championships and two Olympic Games, racing in the coxless pairs at Beijing 2008 and the quadruple sculls at London 2012.

I am very much looking forward to getting started and working alongside the rowing community and our brilliant staff and volunteers to build on rowing’s success”
