Entries for the inaugural Junior Fours Head are open on BROE
The Junior Fours Head launches in 2025 and will take place on the Tideway from Mortlake to Putney on 14 November

The Junior Fours Head are delighted to announce that entries for their first-ever event are now open on BROE.
This new event has been made possible through the support of schools, clubs, and The Fours Head. It aims to give junior rowers the chance to experience racing on the Tideway. Racing will commence at 11:30 on Friday 14 November.
“Rowing has always been a sport with a limited audience and few spectators, yet, junior rowing is rapidly growing and the junior rowing system in Great Britain is second to none,” said Tim Liversage, Chair of the Junior Fours Head.
“This year marks a shift in narrative as our principal partner, Putney High School GDST becomes the first ever girls’ school to host an event of this kind, welcoming 1,200 junior rowers to race on Friday 14 November, opening up 1,200 additional racing opportunities on Saturday at the Fours Head for clubs and universities.
“Everyone in the rowing community has come together to make this possible. We could not have got off the ground without the support of volunteers from schools across the country, and the umpires who have given up a working day to make this event happen on the most iconic stretch of river.
“A brilliant new initiative from RP3 has allowed us to expand the offer to competitors, throughout the two weeks building up to the water events.
“We are excited to see everyone compete at the Fours Festival of rowing between the 1st and 16th November.”
Underpinning the ‘Fours Festival’ of rowing across the weekend of the 14-16 November 2025, the Virtual Fours Festival will complement the on-water offering by allowing participating clubs to enter an unlimited number of athletes into the virtual competition.
When the RP3 Portal opens for entries on the 15th October 2025, entrants will be offered the opportunity to enter as a ‘crew’ (group of four athletes) or a solo competitor across over 70 categories. Entries will close in late October, with the competition running from the 1st to the 14th November.
Across these two weeks, competitors will be able to submit their verified times (achieved on either an RP3 or Concept2 machine) to the RP3 Portal.
Those athletes and crews finishing in the top four in each category will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three brand-new RP3 dynamic machines for their club. Those finishing in the top 25% of each category will also be entered into a separate draw to win one of four seasonal RP3 loan packages.
Complementing the on-water events, any crews that race at the Junior Fours Head, Fours Head, or Veteran Fours Head and classify in the top 25% of each category will be entered into a third parallel draw to win one of four seasonal RP3 loan packages.
