The Road to Tokyo Documentary to premiere next week

The documentary charts the highs and lows of the GB Rowing Team’s preparations for Tokyo 2020 including the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

British Rowing is delighted to confirm that The Road to Tokyo, a fascinating behind the scenes documentary about the commitment of elite Olympic and Paralympic rowing squads, will be published exclusively for free on britishrowing.org. The three, 30-minute episodes tell the athlete’s stories as they strive for selection for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and will premiere on Tuesday, 20 July.

The documentary starts at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria which doubles as the Olympic and Paralympic qualifying regatta before following the team through the highs and lows of training, selection and racing and the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film was written, filmed and edited by Adam Heybeard of Truly Sweet Visuals.
