British Rowing is encouraging rowing clubs across the country to take part in Blades of Remembrance, an initiative started by the Thames Regional Rowing Council.

The Thames Regional Rowing Council, at their meeting in October, agreed to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One with Blades of Remembrance – a visual representation of club members who have lost their lives while fighting for their country in all conflicts.

British Rowing is encouraging rowing clubs across the country to join the Thames Region in marking the moment of silence at 11am on Sunday, 11 November by standing in front of their clubs and displaying club blades as a mark of respect for club members who have lost their lives to war and to say Thank You to all those who have served, sacrificed and changed the world.

Share your Blades of Remembrance with the wider rowing community on Sunday, 11 November using the hashtags #BladesofRemembrance #ThankYou100.
