McMurtry replaces the injured Sarah Cowburn and will race in the women’s eight. Yasmin Tredell, a world junior medallist whose older brother Lance rowed for GB at the World Cups earlier this year, has been called up as a second reserve to join Katherine Douglas. ADVERT GB has made some changes to the seat order in this boat to accommodate the change (see crew lists below). Tredell and Douglas today won the “spares” race in the women’s pair whilst Jonny Walton blasted the final 500m of his men’s single scull “spares” race to overhaul the German early leader and win. The men’s four has also been modified for the Championships , since the team announcement on August 8th, with 2011 World men’s eight silver medallist Nathaniel Reilly O’Donnell moving from bow to the second-seat.
