Urgent message for coxes

hero__image

Does your club use a Cox Box NK® 08 or Cox Box Mini®? If so, your coxes should stop using them immediately.

NK is recalling the R2 Microphone used in both products, owing to the potential for an electric current to pass from exposed speaker wiring to the user.

The current passing through water or moisture can cause a low-voltage electric shock or burn to a cox using either product.

Any NK R2 Microphone featuring an exposed black metal boom (see picture, top right) – microphones purchased after 1st September 2012 use a rubber-covered microphone boom and will not need to be replaced. NK BNC Microphones are also unaffected by the recall.

According to Oarsport, users of the NK R2 Microphone wishing to receive a replacement should:

1. Immediately cease using the recalled R2 Microphone

2. Fill in this form: www.oarsport.co.uk/electronics/mic_return

3. Return the item to Oarsport, and a replacement will be issued.
