WRJC heats up on day two

Dorney Lake plays host to another action-packed display of Junior racing today, as the second day of the World Rowing Junior Championships get underway.

The GB Rowing Team made a typically strong start to the Championships in Wednesday’s opening heats, winning their junior women’s quadruple scull heat and finishing third in the junior men’s four – which was won by an impressive Belarusian crew.

However, with heats in 11 different classifications due to get underway today – together with the repechages in both of yesterday’s events – all eyes will be on Dorney Lake for the hottest day of competition yet.

There are still tickets available at Eton Dorney for the three remaining days of the 2011 WRJC, which can be purchased in person at the event.  Regatta Radio will be available at the event itself via in-ear radios, but can also be accessed online for those unable to make it down to Dorney Lake.

Visitors to the WRJC should be sure to stop by the River & Rowing Museum Pavilion and British Rowing marquee – where you can get a glimpse of the past and future of rowing.

The River & Rowing Museum Pavilion will display a number of rowing boats and canoes, together with exhibition cases for iconic memorabilia.

The British Rowing marquee, meanwhile, is offering the chance to sign up for its taster sessions taking place at the Championships -giving you the opportunity to get out onto the water and experience rowing for yourselves.

Sessions start at 10am, and finish at 2-3pm.
