Vesta International Masters Head of the River Race
Type: Head Race
Date: Sunday, 29 March 2026
Notes: Update: 27Feb26 Race formal close: 12:00 GMT on 16 March 2026. We have seen record entries this year and we currently stand around 80% of our capacity. It is likely the race will reach our maximum cap before closing date. For any crew showing 'Accepted' on BROE2, your entry will be in the draw. From now, any new crew entered will show as Submitted, we will accept as many as we can after the formal close. Do please check your crews are fit, able and happy to race this year. To remind you, any crew withdrawn before the official close will receive a full refund. We'll also issue full refunds to any crews we are unable to accept. A note on weather and conditions The UK has had exceptional rainfall this year and the River Thames has been under red or yellow flag restrictions for much of the last few weeks: https://pla.co.uk/ebb-tide-flag-warning Safety is our primary concern. If the river is on red flag warning, we will not be able to run this year's race. Under a yellow flag, rowers should navigate with extreme caution and consider whether it is safe for them to go afloat. We'll be contacting crews with low CRI to check they are comfortable in racing these conditions, but please be proactive in assessing your crew's competence ___________________________________ The event will take place on the Championship course on Sunday the 29th March 2026 at 14:00 BST. We have an aggregated Masters Novice category for any masters entrant whose PRI is within the Novice band. Please comment in the ‘Notes’ box if you do not want to be considered for this. For complete novice entries, we will also offer 8X+ and 4x+ categories. This will be run at organisers' discretion, depending on competitor demand.
