St. Anne’s College Boat Club (SABC) is searching for a Women’s Lower Boat Coach for the academic year 2025/26, who would primarily coach SABC’s W2.
We want to rebuild a competitive W2 this coming year, and need the help of an enthusiastic, tenacious, growth-oriented coach to do so!
Although this role would be the official coach for our W2, there will be occasional opportunities to coach SABC’s M1-M3, W1, and/or W3, meaning potential to utilise and/or improve their coaching abilities across a variety of skillsets. We would like to coach to be fairly confident in their ability to train coxes of different experience-levels, starting from novice.
The role requires coaching of at least 3 water sessions per week during Oxford term-time. Typical session times are 06:30 & 17:00 on weekdays, anytime Saturday, 13:00 & 15:00 Sunday. It is preferred that the coach could be available during Oxford vacations to attend and provide feedback during vacation rowing sessions or training camps.
The coach would be expected to monitor the progress of the crew & the individual rowers – they would encourage & advise rowers on how to benefit the most from provided training plans.
