Imperial University – Rowing Coach

Imperial University is looking to hire a qualified rowing coach to join the professional team.

The appointed person would work with the Rowing Programme Manager and Senior Coach to deliver the novice and senior rowing programmes for Imperial College Boat Club, alongside the team of volunteer and sessions coaches.

What you would be doing:

Predominantly based at the Boat House in Putney and reporting to the Rowing Programme Manager, you will be required to assist with the delivery of the coaching programme to the student crews at Imperial and support the development of the rowing program. This includes working with both Senior and Novice sqauds throughout the season. In addition to this you would also be leading set crews towards success at key events during the season including BUCS Head, WEHORR, HORR, BUCS Regatta, Henley Women’s Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta. You would also have an active role in the planning and execution of the athlete development pathway from novice to senior squad.

What we are looking for:

You will need to have or be working towards a British Rowing Coaching Qualification. Have a full driving licence with allowance to drive a trailer and desirably a RYA Power Boat License. You will have previous experience of working in a similar environment and an understanding of equal opportunities within the context of a student leisure environment.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and can work independently as well as part of a Team and with a diverse range of people, including students, academics, non-academic staff and the local community.

The position is available on a part-time fixed term three-year contract. Applicants are needing to be flexible and willing to work at other locations, early mornings, evenings, and weekends (on a 5 out of 7-day contract).
