Capsize and Recovery Workshop – Nottingham

Time: 4.5 – 5 hours

Time: 11:30 – 13:00 Theory at Nottingham Union RC, 14:00 – 16:30 Practical at Bingham Leisure Centre (you will need to arrange you own transport between the two venues)

What you'll learn: This workshop will cover Capsize and Recovery. The aim is to provide a model for clubs to use when running their own Capsize and Recovery sessions.

This workshop has a mixture of both theory (including video) and practical; this will involve a practical session in a pool during which you will perform a Capsize and Recovery in a single scull. Ensure that you bring a swimming costume with light clothes over the top and towels.

Who can attend? Anyone who will be running Capsize & Recovery sessions at their club. This workshop is also a prerequisite for anyone wanting to attend a UKCC Level 2 Coaching Rowing Certificate.

Other Information: This workshop is a pre-requisite to the UKCC Level 2 Coaching Rowing Certificate. Upon completion, you should retain your certificate. The other prerequisites for this qualification are Emergency Aid Training, Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop, Safety Basics Online Module, and Cold Water & Hypothermia Online Module.
