Growing up in Wokingham, Daisy was involved in many different sports but didn’t discover rowing until Anna Watkins, fresh from winning Olympic gold in 2012, visited her school to give a talk.

Inspired by her story, Daisy’s parents signed her up for a learn-to-row summer camp. Later, she joined Marlow Rowing Club as a junior athlete where her love for the sport began.

While studying Sociology at Oxford Brookes University, Daisy became deeply invested in the issue of equal opportunities for women, particularly after researching the exposure of female athletes across media platforms. It was during this time that she realised the importance of representation — if young women can’t see themselves, they can’t aspire to be it.

Driven by a desire for change, she chose to pursue a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing at the University of Reading. After rowing, Daisy hopes to build a career in sports marketing, ideally working for a women’s football team. With the rapid growth and rising visibility of women’s football, she feels it would be incredibly exciting to be a part of the momentum behind the next generation of athletes.
