Rowing Coach – Seeclub Biel (Switzerland)
The Seeclub Biel is one of the largest and most traditional rowing clubs in Switzerland. Sporting success and community spirit have been cultivated there for 140 years. They want to become one of the strongest junior clubs in Switzerland again. Biel offers a lake, a river, schools in the immediate vicinity and great potential. They are looking for someone with a strong personality to build a sustainable junior training programme.
Your Role
- To develop the junior section for U15–U23 athletes – with a clear training philosophy, high technical skill and enthusiasm.
- Depending on the performance level, training for the junior section comprises 4 to 11 training sessions per week, according to age and performance level.
- You will build up a culture in which young people feel comfortable.

- Holistic training philosophy for competitive and recreational sports
- A clear youth strategy for U15–U23
- Structured training planning with 4–11 sessions per week, depending on the performance level
- Technically sound, long-term training
- Integrated leadership and further development of J+S leaders
- Build up a pipeline of coaches from your own young talents
- 1–2 training sessions in recreational sports as a conscious bridge within the club
- Joint cooperation with other rowing and sporting clubs
- An atmosphere in which everyone feels respected and motivated
- Responsibility for regattas, training camps and everyday club life
- Responsibility for equipment, boat allocation and boat transport
Person Specification
- You take a long-term, inter-generational view
- You lead with joy, clarity, empathy and high standards
- You understand that the cultural aspect is just as important as training planning
- You have a high level of technical expertise in rowing
- You are happy to continue working beyond normal working hours when necessary
- You speak German & English; French would be an additional advantage
- You have a Cat. B and BE driving licence and a boat licence, experience in towing trailers and a private car with a tow bar
- You have trained as a competitive sports coach and have a federal certificate as a J+S competitive sports coach or an equivalent rowing qualification

- 70–80% position with a high degree of flexibility; job-sharing with another person would be possible

- Start August 2026 or by agreement. Working hours mainly in the mornings, evenings and at weekends.
