World Rowing Cup Series 2025

For 2025, the World Rowing Cup is a series of two regattas, held in close succession which act as a lead-up to the World Rowing Championships.

 

 

 

Regatta Dates

World Rowing Cup – Varese, 13-15 June

Varese is located in the Northern part of Italy, 55km north of Milan. The Lake is 8.8km long and 4.5km wide. Well-known for its natural beauty, it is protected by Natura 2000, a network of protected areas set up by the European Union to safeguard rare or endangered species and habitats. It is claimed that rowing has been practiced on Lake Varese for over 5000 years.

World Rowing Cup – Lucerne, 27-29 June

The Rotsee, also known as “Lake of the Gods” is within walking distance to the town of Lucerne. Ideal for competitive rowing, the lake’s geographical position make it arguably one of the fairest in the world. Ask any rower where they love to row and it is often the Rotsee that is mentioned.

Scoring:

Each Olympic boat class earns the following points based on its finishing order:

1st: 8 points | 2nd: 6 points | 3rd: 5 points | 4th: 4 points | 5th: 3 points | 6th: 2 points | 7th: 1 point

If a country has more than one crew in a boat class, points are awarded only to the first crew. The crew with the most points in each boat class is declared the World Rowing Cup leader.

After the second World Rowing Cup regatta, the crew with the most points in each boat class is declared the World Cup winner.
