Ollie’s Great Grandfather competed in the Men’s Eight at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics.

It’s this family legacy and proud history that he carries with him each and everyday he steps into a boat.

The youngest of three brothers, he grew up dreaming of playing international rugby for Wales, inspired by his idol Alun Wyn Jones. However, multiple shoulder injuries led him to rowing, where he found his true calling, joining the GB Rowing Team in 2017. Since then he has won medals on both bowside and strokeside, including an Olympic Bronze medal in the Men’s Eight at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games.

Ollie majored in politics at Yale University in the USA and later completed an MBA at Cambridge University. Passionate about giving back, Ollie dedicates his time to providing advice and mentorship to young athletes. He believes in the transformative power of sport and education and strives to guide youngsters in their sporting journeys.

He also faces the challenge of being one of the UK’s three million colour blind people, which has never deterred him from pursuing his dreams and excelling in sport but does mean that he is rarely found wearing colours and his taste in art remains “eclectic”.

In his personal life, Ollie and his ‘better half,’ Hannah Scott, are proud owners of a British blue shorthair cat named Marmite. Ollie is also a massive Chelsea football fan and is unapologetic about his love for the Harry Potter franchise.
