We are delighted to announce our intention to run the British Rowing Masters Championships on 12 June, subject to the expected relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions. The event will take place as a one-day event at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.

Chris Anton, Chair of the British Rowing Masters Championships Organising Committee commented, “We are delighted to be able to confirm our intention to run this year’s championships. The event will provide a welcome opportunity for Masters rowers to return to multi-lane racing after the pandemic.”

Whilst precise restrictions for June are not yet known, British Rowing is confident that the race format can be adjusted to allow the event to run on the planned date. Chris explained further,  “Clearly there remains a number of unknowns, however, as an organising committee we are pulling together flexible and adaptable plans based on British Rowing’s ‘Managing COVID-19’ guidance which will allow us to cope with a number of different scenarios.”

Further details of the event will be announced next month with entries opening at the end of April.

To assist with planning for the event, British Rowing is looking to recruit two volunteer roles to the Organising Committee. Applications are welcomed for the positions of COVID-19 Officer and Volunteer Manager.
