Simon joined the board in October 2018 and is a member of the Finance Committee.

With a 40-year career in banking – mainly in the Commercial and Corporate arena for a major UK clearing bank in property and latterly, on debt restructuring and working with companies in financial difficulties, he now heads up the Restructuring and Recoveries team for a UK bank. Simon has been a chair of two school governing bodies, a trustee of the Manchester Youth Theatre for a number of years as well as honorary treasurer of a small housing association.

Simon started rowing at university and has been involved in the sport for over 40 years. He is a multi-lane umpire, and was previously a member of Trafford RC where he was closely involved in discussions to secure a new boat and clubhouse facility. After moving to Wales, he is now treasurer of Newport BC and has been heavily involved in its recent incorporation. He has also become an active coastal rower.

He was also elected a non-executive director of Welsh Rowing in November 2022.
