The Hartpury Rowing Start initiative is a joint venture between Hartpury College, The GB Rowing Team Start Programme and Gloucester Rowing Club. The aim of the programme is to identify and develop Olympic rowers. Launched in 2010, rowing is the seventh elite talent development sport established by the College.

British Rowing is the governing body for rowing, one of GB's most successful Olympic sports. We are responsible for the training and selection of individual rowers and crews representing Great Britain, and for participation in and the development of on-water and indoor rowing in England.
