Masters Rowing Coach – Thames Tradesmen’s Rowing Club

Thames Tradesmen’s Rowing Club is seeking a rowing coach to lead their Masters Racing Squad. The club is based at the University of London Boathouse, Chiswick, and has just over 50 Masters members, with 25 competing regularly on the Tideway, at local Heads and Regattas as well as the British Masters Championships in Nottingham. They offer members a welcoming environment, use of a comprehensive range of boats and access to ergo equipment for land training. They run a biannual Learn to Row programme from which most of the Racing Squad have graduated. They are looking to build on the success of creating a dedicated Racing Squad from the Learn-to-Row programme and taking the squad to the next level of personal achievement and crew performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on-water coaching sessions
  • Provide individual technical feedback to individuals to support skill development and crew performance
  • Devise structured land training programme to improve fitness and support on-water development
Qualifications
  • British rowing Level 2 Coaching qualification (or equivalent) preferred
  • Power Boat Level 2 qualification (RYA or equivalent)
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Knowledge of the Tideway Code
