Club Squad Session Coach – Furnivall Sculling Club

Furnivall Sculling Club is seeking to recruit a Session Coach to support the development of their athletes. Furnivall is a vibrant club with over 125 years of history based in Hammersmith. As the oldest women’s rowing club in the country, Furnivall has a reputation for offering a competitive yet inclusive environment for their 200 members. They pride ourselves on being a diverse and inclusive club, enabling longevity and flexibility in their members’ rowing careers while supporting them in reaching their maximum potential.

About the Role

The Club Squad consists of experienced scullers and rowers who are passionate about the sport but prefer a more relaxed approach. Members of the squad have at least two years experience, and aim to have fun, stay fit and continue to improve their skills. Racing isn’t a priority, however members of the squad enjoy the occasional local regatta or head race. The squad values camaraderie, personal development and enjoying time spent on the water.

FSC are looking for a coach that shares these values and is able to coach 1-2 weeknight sessions. Remuneration will be provided at an hourly rate in line with experience, typically between ÂŁ15-25 per hour. Preferred experience includes:

  • Minimum two years coaching experience
  • Experience of coaching both sculling and sweep rowing
  • Good understanding of navigation and safety on the Tideway
  • Launch driver RYA Level 2 or equivalent
