Boathouse Manager – Dulwich College
Dulwich College is seeking a proactive Boathouse Manager to support its successful rowing programme. The role involves managing the boathouse, fleet and equipment, ensuring safe operations, and supporting rowing activities, competitions and events throughout the year.
About the Role
Dulwich College is seeking to appoint a Boathouse Manager to support the continued success of one of the country’s leading school rowing programmes. Rowing is one of the College’s most popular sports, with pupils benefiting from access to our modern, fully equipped boathouse on the Thames at Putney — home to the Dulwich College Boat Club (DCBC) — as well as dedicated land-training facilities within the PE Centre.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of the boathouse and its equipment. Working closely with the Head of Rowing, the Boathouse Manager will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the College’s fleet, oars, ergometers, launches, trailers and safety equipment, while supporting the delivery of training sessions, regattas, training camps and other rowing activities.
This is a varied and hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, practical maintenance experience and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in accordance with the British Rowing Rules of Racing and the British Rowing Water Safety Code. The role also includes supporting the transport and logistics of equipment and boats, liaising with external contractors and assisting with the wider operation of the rowing programme.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This is the responsibility of the whole College community. We all remain vigilant about safeguarding at the College and never assume that child abuse could not happen here or to our pupils. A DBS Disclosure is required at Enhanced level.
