The Sculling Festival is an omnium event, run over two days, testing the technical and manoeuvrability skills, and speed of racing.

 

Official statement

Saturday, 18 August at 19:45:

Due to forecast weather conditions, the race committee have reviewed the schedule of racing for tomorrow (Sunday, 19 August).

As a result of this, racing will now be held over 500m (with the start line being from the 2,000m finish line). The race timetable and circulation pattern have been amended accordingly.

The Race Committee will continue to monitor the weather conditions and if there are to be any further changes to the schedule, an announcement will be made at 8am.

*Offered to those genuinely in their first year of the sport.

 

Scullers will be allocated “overall points” based on their rankings/scores in individual events, for racing, manoeuvrability and skills.

Individual gold, silver or bronze medals will be awarded to the highest placed three scullers, based on the overall results, in the following categories:

  • Main Event Open: Senior, U23, J18 and J16
  • Main Event Women’s: Senior, U23, J18 and J16
  • Beginners’ Event Open: Club, University, J18 and J16
  • Beginners’ Event Women’s: Club, University, J18 and J16

Skills

Each sculler will be assessed on a number of skills and be awarded pass, intermediate or fail on each skill assessed. Details of the skills to be assessed will be available here.

 

Car parking

Parking is available on site in designated car parks.

The National Water Sports Centre will be charging the following for parking.

All trailers to be charged £5 for the weekend. Cars (including those towing) to be charged £5 per day.
