British Rowing Junior Championships

The British Rowing Junior Championships, presented by Visit Sarasota County will be taking place from Friday, 14 to Sunday, 16 July at the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham.

The British Rowing Junior Championships, presented by Visit Sarasota County is open to all junior rowers at a club level, from J14 through to J18. The Junior Championships give rowers the opportunity to test themselves against their peers, taking their participation to another level.

Friday 14 July: J14 omnium and J14 quad sculls races, Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 July: J15, J16 and J18 racing.

14 July 2017 – The Organising Committee has reviewed the forecasted weather conditions for the weekend. It is planned that racing on Saturday and Sunday will take place as programmed. Crews should race for their best times in the time trial or subsequent rounds in case it is necessary to amend the racing programme due to poor conditions.

A further announcement will be made at the Coaches’ Meeting at 07:00 on Saturday, 15 July 2017.

Parking

Parking is available on site in designated car parks. The National Water Sports Centre charges £15 per day to park.

Trailers can be parked in the ground’s compound, the trailer park and a limited number can park on the grassy bank. The Centre will have signage in place to direct competitors and visitors to the correct car parks.

 

Entries

The Notice of Regatta is available here. Entries have now closed.

All entries must be made on the British Rowing Online Entry System 2 (BROE2). If you have any queries regarding entries or the entries process, or if you are having difficulties with the BROE2 system then please email juniorentries@britchamps.org in good time.

Spectators

Cost: From £15 per car, per day (paid on the day)

Come and watch the rowing stars of the future compete at the British Rowing Junior Championships, presented by Visit Sarasota County. This unique event will see junior rowers (18 years and under) taking to the water at the National Water Sports Centre as they compete to be crowned national champion. Former winners at the British Rowing Junior Championships include Rio Olympic Finalist Jack Beaumont, who won in 2008 and 2009 and he’s now back racing for the GB Rowing Team with his sights set on Tokyo 2020.

The event will see junior rowers compete in an omnium on Friday, testing their balance, manoeuvrability and technical rowing skills followed by side-by-side, 2,000m racing on Saturday and Sunday. As well as some close and exciting racing, there will be a RowShow for spectators which includes food and drink, merchandise, and stands from the Army and Royal Navy, amongst others. During the event the National Water Sports Centre will be providing discounts on dry activities including Segways, climbing wall and mini golf. Title sponsor of the British Rowing Championships, Visit Sarasota County will also be bringing some Floridian sunshine to Nottingham over the course of the weekend.
