Knowledge
The GB Rowing Team is the high performance arm of British Rowing. Rowing is the nation’s most continuously successful Olympic sport, having won a gold medal in every Olympic Games since 1984, and has won six Paralympic golds since the sport was introduced to the Paralympic Games programme in 2008.

Only 12 months after she first attended a Para-rowing Talent ID day, Ellen Buttrick became a World Champion in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four.
She subsequently defended her title at the 2019 World Championships in Linz, Austria and now is aiming to gain selection for the 2020 Paralympic Games.
Before joining the Great Britain Rowing Team Ellen studied Geography at Northumbria University and following graduation enjoyed working in the UK and Europe. She enjoys spending time outdoors, with friends and family, visiting new places and gaining knowledge and skills.
Alongside her training, Ellen supports refugees and asylum seekers across the Thames Valley with the Oxford based charity, Sanctuary Hosting. She also volunteers with Girlguiding UK, where she has been a member since joining Brownies, aged 7.
