If you're aged between 18-25 and looking for a new challenge, then this sport is for you. Rowing is the ultimate team sport where you train and race as a crew member whilst making friends for life. This course will work on your fitness and teach you the core rowing technique. Sessions will take place both on land and the river.
The courses run over three consecutive evenings during the Summer and will prepare you to hit the ground running at the start of the main rowing season in September. We'll give you the skills and fitness to row competitively, with the aim to move you into our intermediate and senior squads in your second season. There's no obligation to sign up as a member after this course, but we hope you'll have enjoyed your time with us that you'll be keen to join our beginners squad in September.
If the cost of the course is an issue please get in contact as there is a limited number of subsidised places available for the summer courses.
You will need to be able to swim competently - at least 50m in light clothing.
Please note any ticket purchases made are non-refundable due to the inclusion of a year long British Rowing membership in the sign up fee.
