About the module: Great Coaching in a Modern Society is one of the first steps towards understanding the role of the coach in not only supporting rowers on the water, but the wider roles and responsibilities in a modern society which ensures sport is welcoming, safe and inclusive for all. It is aimed at anyone who is starting out in their formal learning journey and is applicable to coaches working with all groups from beginners to competent rowers.
The training is a core foundation for any coach wanting to ensure they have a heightened awareness of the positive impact they can have in their role, and how to develop and progress as you gain experience. The module will cover:
●Understanding your duty to care, and what it can look like
●Creating a welcoming coaching environment
●The code of conduct in your coaching practice
●Being a conscientious coach
●Legislation and operational procedures
