Wolfson College Boat Club (Oxford) – Assistant Rowing Coach (Novice / Senior)

Wolfson College Boat Club (Oxford) are seeking an Assistant Novice/Senior Boats Coach to join their open’s coaching team.

Wolfson College Boat Club (WCBC) is a thriving and friendly college boat club for students and fellows of Wolfson and St. Cross Colleges at Oxford University, and is the top-ranked open’s rowing squad on the Isis. Our rowers of all skill and commitment levels train on the Isis from the University College Boathouse all year round.

This position is available for an immediate start.

At WCBC, we offer a range of coaching opportunities at competitive pay throughout the week split between land and water, including outings at 6:30am and 7:45am on weekdays, as well evenings and weekends.

We train throughout the year including outside university terms.

Job Requirements include:

Prior experience in rowing or coaching at Novice and Senior level
Enthusiastic, and willing to adapt to club culture
Available for 3–5 outings per week (6:30–8 am / 7:45–9:15 am / evenings)
Able to work collaboratively with the open’s captains and head open’s coach Rory Copus
Availability for coaching erg / weights sessions
Availability for major Oxford regattas, including but not limited to the Michaelmas Novice Regatta, Torpids, and Summer Eights
Willingness to teach learn-to-row courses to absolute beginners, as 60% of our squad first start rowing here
