St Catherine’s College (Oxford) BC – Assistant and Novice Coaches
We are seeking a team of novice and assistant coaches to support our squad for the 25/26 academic year (our 150th anniversary year).
‘Catz BC’ has a strong history at the peaks of Oxford college rowing, with large periods in the first division as well as headship and blades-winning crews. We are looking to develop our squad to be targeting blades across all crews this year, as well as success at a range of national events and regattas.
As a novice coach, you will be responsible for engaging and teaching novice rowers the core principles of rowing with an average of 5 sessions a week.
As an assistant coach, you will coach our first boats on the water to a high technical level, pushing and supporting athletes to reach their potential, with an average of 2-3 sessions a week.

Who we’re looking for:
- Rowers who are looking to get coaching experience or have experience coaching novices
- Commitment to a collaborative and supportive environment
- Highly desirable to have S coxing status with OURCs, or at least X status
Water sessions take place from our Longbridges boathouse on the Isis stretch of the Thames, with erg sessions also mostly taking place here, and strength and conditioning in our college gym. We train mostly in the early mornings during the week and during the day on weekends.
Our main international training camp takes place over the Easter vacation, with other events and training in the UK throughout the year.

Salary: Dependent on experience - Highly competitive
Type: Part-time - Avg. 10-15 hours a week
