Boathouse Manager and Rowing Coach – Reading Blue Coat School
Reading Blue Coat School are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable individual to support the strategic development and day-to-day management of their Boat House. This role combines forward-thinking planning with practical hands-on responsibility, ensuring facilities and equipment are effectively organised, maintained, and aligned with the club’s future needs.
The Boathouse Manager is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Boat House. The postholder will ensure robust lifecycle planning and maintenance of the boat inventory, provide long-term discipline-specific recommendations for sweep and sculling programmes, complete repairs, maintenance and stock-taking and ensure that the workshop area is well maintained and organised. Alongside this, the postholder will coach on games afternoons, at after school sessions and on Saturdays, coaching, managing and launching crews for racing and mentoring less experienced coaches as and when new staff join the team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rowing equipment and boat house operations, experience in equipment management, planning or facilities organisation and an ability to work as a coach with rowers of all abilities.

Salary: £38,000 to £40,000 per annum
Type: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week typically worked from 10:00 to 18:00 on four days out of Monday to Friday (with a 30-minute meal break each day) and 07:30 to 15:00 on Saturdays, all year round.
