Men’s Head Coach and Assistant Coach – St Catherine’s College Boat Club, Oxford
St Catherine’s College Boat Club are seeking a head coach for the men’s squad and an assistant coach to train both experienced and novice rowers on the water. They are hoping to drive their ambitious squad back to the first divisions of Oxford rowing. With dedicated crews of returners and record breaking numbers of new rowers, this is a great chance to make real impact.

SCCBC is an ambitious squad aiming to redefine our place on the water. In the coming academic year they are hoping to dominate bumps racing to honour their boat club’s 150th anniversary. This exciting opportunity comes with paid training camps, social events and coaching development courses all while still offering a highly competitive coaching rate.
Who they are looking for:
Coaches with a history of high performance coaching/rowing and a passion for developing both experienced and novice rowers. You must be committed to turning up to training sessions up to 6 times a week and upholding a supportive training environment within our squad.
Positions available:
Head coach
- Setting the ethos of the squad
- Coaching a range of different boats of both experienced and novice rowers
- Occasionally coaching land training sessions
- Avg. 5 water sessions a week, with double sessions some days and more water sessions in the run up to races
Assistant coach
- Coaching both our men’s and women’s first boats to their peak on the water
- The ideal candidate for this position has experience rowing in high performance programmes and is looking to develop their coaching skills
- Lead novice training through Michealmas term
- Coach water sessions to teach core principles and skills to new rowers
- Engage new students with the sport
- Coach basic erg and S&C sessions
- Avg. 4-5 sessions a week
