Head Coach – Barnes Bridge Ladies Rowing Club
Barnes Bridge Ladies are looking for a new Head Coach to lead their Senior Squad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop our Senior Squad, focusing on progression across the full range of experience
- Build a strong competitive ethos, targeting local and national regattas including WeHoRR, Henley Women’s Regatta, British Masters Championships, and beyond
- Build on the momentum and success of the current season (five eights entered across three categories at WeHORR 2026, gold / silver medals at British Masters Champs), helping athletes and crews continue to progress and achieve their potential.
- Lead regular training sessions (weekday evenings and weekends), with support for training camps and racing commitments.
- Work collaboratively with squad coaches, captains and club volunteers to create a joined-up athlete pathway and coaching approach across the club.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Coaching experience with both Senior and Masters athletes, ideally within a club or university environment.
- Strong technical and tactical rowing knowledge, with the ability to adapt coaching styles to different individuals and crews.
- Experience building successful, sustainable programmes and creating a culture that balances performance, enjoyment and long-term participation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside squad coaches, captains, committee members and volunteers.
- Lead crew selection, season planning and athlete development, ensuring transparent communication and a positive training environment.
