Twickenham Rowing Club – Senior Men’s Coach (Voluntary)

Twickenham Rowing Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Volunteer Senior Men’s Squad Coach to support the development and performance of their senior men’s rowing programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an inclusive and ambitious club environment, contributing to both crew performance and long-term squad culture.

The Role

Working collaboratively with the Head of Racing and the Director of Rowing, the Senior Men’s Squad Coach will help shape the direction of the senior men’s programme, supporting crew selection and athlete development. The club runs both Senior Men and Senior Women alongside each other. The current Senior Women’s coach and the successful candidate will work closely to ensure day to day technical support during sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical coaching delivery on all/majority of water sessions (Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30pm and Saturdays 7-11:30am and Sundays 7:30-9am)
  •  Work as part of the coaching team with the Senior Women’s Coach, Head of Racing and Director of Rowing to select crews and plan squad progression
  •  Help build and maintain a strong squad culture that promotes commitment, respect, and performance
  • Support the technical and tactical development of athletes within the senior men’s squad
  • Assist with training delivery, race preparation, and regatta support as appropriate
  • Lead on a specific crew coaching through to key racing inclusive of HORR, HRR and Brit Champs
  • Provide constructive feedback to athletes and contribute to ongoing performance reviews
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Twickenham Rowing Club

About You

  • Experience coaching or rowing at a senior club or university level or above
  •  Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team
  • A passion for athlete development and creating an inclusive, supportive environment
  • Commitment to volunteering and contributing to club life
  • Relevant coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
