Trinity College Cambridge – Assistant Rowing Coach
Trinity College, Cambridge is seeking to appoint an Assistant Rowing Coach to support members of the First and Third Boad Club, focusing particularly on those who are new to the sport.
The Assistant Rowing Coach will be expected to develop a positive, welcoming and encouraging environment for all members, including students and Alumni, of differing rowing and coxing ability. The Club is an integral part of College life, providing a positive focus for student from their studies.
We are looking for somebody with experience of coaching at all levels, supporting crews to achieve high levels of success and managing and maintaining a boathouse and equipment. You must also be able to demonstrate experience of dealing and collaborating successfully with a variety of stakeholders, self-motivation and an ability to organise your own workload. You must be a team player able to operate with integrity and honesty.
Applicants must have a full UK driving licence, ideally with towing entitlement and a First Aid certificate. A rowing coaching qualification (ideally British Rowing Level 2) and experience of L2R programmes, or equivalent, would be highly desirable along with a Health and Safety qualification.
The role is 0.5 full-time equivalent (20 hours per week) which is expected to be annualised to be worked primarily during University term time (26 weeks per year) when students are normally in residence. The term-time working week will include early mornings, evenings and weekend working and attendance to provide support for competitions and coaching at times when students are not required to attend lectures.

The postholder will also assist the Boathouse Manager in ensuring the boathouse and equipment are maintained to a good and safe standard.
This is an exciting new opportunity, initially on a 2-year fixed term contract, for somebody who is looking to start their career as a professional rowing coach.
