University of Nottingham Boat Club – Assistant Rowing Coaches
UoNBC is seeking multiple rowing coaches to support the continued development and performance across all of its squads.
The University of Nottingham boathouse is situated on the banks of the River Trent and provides a centre for training on a wide 9km stretch, and facilities to use ergos as a squad.
Our programme is located within easy reach of the National Water Sports Centre, and a close partnership allows our students extensive access to the 2km buoyed course. Student athletes can also take advantage of the state-of-the-art training facilities at the £40 million David Ross Sports Village, including a 200-station fitness suite, High Performance Zone and Sports Injury Clinic.
Members join a long history of success on the water at BUCS and other national competitions; our alumni include Olympians Chris Bartley, Vicky Meyer-Laker, David Lemon, and Blue Boat rower George McKirdy, and numerous, Henley Royal Regatta winners.
The club is now looking to develop its coaching team to support the squads for the 2025-26 season. We are seeking multiple assistant coaches to support the programme and are interested in any availability to join and help us, whether regular hours or occasional support at sessions over the season.
Water sessions typically take place on Wednesday afternoons and weekend mornings from September through to March, with exception for camps outside of term time. Water session frequency increases in term time from April through to July.
