Peter Chambers

Peter raced in the lightweight men's single scull at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships in Brest, Belarus where he won a silver medal.   He won his heat and semi-final and had a superb race in the final against the 2009 World U23 Champion from Iran, taking 2nd place just under a length behind 1st.  He has raced this year in the World Cup Series, at Bled taking 12th place in the lightweight men's double scull and in Munich where he came 6th in the lightweight men's single.

He took up rowing at Bann Rowing Club in Coleraine at just 13 years old under the guidance of Seamus Reynolds.  Peter is the younger brother of GB rower and Olympian Richard Chambers.

Peter raced in the lightweight quad at the 2009 World U23 Championships, where he won bronze.  An encouraging result from a crew who were all racing at their first Under 23s.

In his spare time he enjoys all sports.  He is currently studying Sports Science at Oxford Brookes University.

Peter is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
