Mohamed Sbihi

Moe is a successful product of GB Rowing's World Class Start Programme, sponsored by Siemens. He was originally discovered in 2003 when he was tested at his school, the Hollyfield School in Surbiton. At the 2009 GB Rowing Senior Trials he finished a creditable fourth with James Foad and gained a place in the senior men's eight for the first 2 World Cups. He represented GB in the pair at the World U23 Championships in Racice in July 09, where he finished 8th.
In his first U23 year, Moe won a bronze medal in the men's four at the World U23 Championships.
Moe was a 2006 World Junior Championship finalist in the men's pair, finishing 5th. He also competed in the Youth Olympic Festival in Australia in January 2007, where he won a gold in the men's four and two silvers, one in the men's pair and one in the men's eight. He raced in the second men's four at the 2008 World Cup in Lucerne.
In 2006, as a junior, Moe won all the pairs' trials he entered. He also had the fastest 2km ergo test time of any junior triallist that year.
Moe won gold at the Great Britain Indoor Rowing Championships in 2006 in the U18 category and in 2003 in the U15 category.
Moe is in his final year studying Sport Science at St Mary's University College, Twickenham. His interests include football, particularly Arsenal FC, basketball, film and music.
Moe is also a practising Muslim and can speak a dialect of Arabic. He regularly visits his family in Morocco.
Moe is grateful to his former coach, Sue McNuff and her patience in teaching him everything he now knows about rowing.
