Louisa Reeve
For the 2010 World Cup Series Louisa raced in the women's pair in Bled with Olivia Whitlam, taking 5th place, and in Munich with Jessica Eddie, coming 9th. She also raced in the women's eight at all three events, winning gold in Bled, silver in Munich and bronze in Lucerne. This has been a promising season for the women's eight who have shown consistency throughout the World Cup series.
Louisa, with Olivia Whitlam, won this year's women's pair event at the GB Rowing Team Senior Trials in April. This was a repeat of their trials success in 2009. They continued to race in the women's pair for the rest of the 2009 season, taking gold at the first World Cup in Banyoles and bronze in Lucerne. They also doubled up into the eight for the first 2 World Cups. At the 2009 World Rowing Championships in Poznan they came 6th in a remarkable final where only a tad over four seconds separated the gold winning Americans from Britain's pair.
Louisa competed in the women's pair at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and finished 6th, an exceptional performance after qualifying the boat at the final Olympic Qualification Regatta just seven weeks before. She also took part in the final of the women's eight in Beijing, replacing an ill team mate, and finished 5th.
Louisa won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. She stroked the GB Women's eight to a silver medal at the World Cup Regatta in Linz that June and continued in the eight for the rest of the World Cup series, always reaching the A Final.
Louisa learnt to row at Downe House School but only took it seriously at Durham University where she was coached by Emma and Wade Hall Craggs. In 2006 she won a gold in the double at the World University Rowing Championships.
She has represented GB at the World U23 Championships twice, coming 5th in the four in 2006 and winning a silver in the quad in 2007.
Louisa is Lottery Funded through UK Sport.
