Jessica Eddie
For the 2010 World Cup Series Jess raced in the women's eight, winning a gold medal in Bled, a silver in Munich and bronze in Lucerne. This has been a promising season for the women's eight who have shown consistency throughout the World Cup series. In Bled and Munich Jess also raced in the women's pair, with Alison Knowles in Bled where they came 6th and with Louisa Reeve in Munich when they took 9th place.
Jess came 5th in the women's eight at the 2009 World Championships in Poznan, following her gold medal at the Banyoles World Cup and 5th place in Munich. Throughout the 2008 World Cup series Jess raced in the eight finishing 5th and 6th before winning a bronze at Poznan. She raced in the eight for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and finished 5th.
She has represented GB at junior, U23 and senior level and has been a member of the senior women's squad since 2005.
Jess first represented GB in the women's quad at the World Junior Championships, finishing 6th in 2001 and 8th in 2002. She won a bronze medal in the women's pair at the World U23 Championships in 2003 and rowed in the senior four at the 2004 World Championships which finished 6th.
Jess raced in the eight in the early 2005 season and won bronze in the pair at the World U23 Championships in Amsterdam in July. She went on to be part of the women's eight which performed so well at the 2005 World Championships, finishing 5th. At the 2006 World Championships in Eton she raced in the pair finishing 11th. She raced in the eight in the 2007 World Cup series, always reaching the A Final, winning a silver, followed by 5th and 4th place. She won a bronze medal in the eight at the 2007 World Championships.
Jess learnt to row in Durham at the age of 8 and combined rowing with rugby and netball while at St Leonards RC Comprehensive.
She now rows for University of London Women's Boat Club and completed a degree in Biology at Royal Holloway College in 2006. Her twin sister Alexandra also rowed.
